Introduction
I'm a self-proclaimed control freak. I like things a certain way and I like to oversee everything in my life. So, when I started my virtual assistant business one year ago, I had no idea that it would lead me down the path of becoming a Pinterest manager. As a generalist virtual assistant, I wear many hats. I'm a jack-of-all-trades, so to speak. I do everything from GDPR, email management, bookkeeping to logo designs. But about nine months into my business, I started to specialise in Pinterest management. And let me tell you, it has been an amazing journey!
I never imagined that I would love being a Pinterest manager as much as I do. It's really the perfect blend of my two passions: creating graphics and content. Being able to help businesses grow their reach and sales through Pinterest is just icing on the cake!
My Background Story
It all started when I was laid off from my previous job in the oil industry. I had worked various roles in personnel logistics for about 20 years. When I was laid off, I decided to take some time to reassess what I wanted to do with my career.
I had always been interested in working from home and having more flexibility with my schedule, so becoming a virtual assistant seemed like the perfect fit. I started my business, as a generalist virtual assistant, and began offering office management services. I quickly realised that I loved being a virtual assistant and helping small businesses grow.
How I Found My Niche as a Pinterest Manager
When I first started my virtual assistant business, I had no idea what my niche would be. I just knew that I wanted to help businesses through creative online marketing. After a few months of working with various clients, I realised that my true passion was helping businesses grow their online presence. I found an amazing group called The Virtual Savvy and took their virtual assistant personality test which told me I'd be ideally suited to Pinterest management.
I went on to join the SavvyVault which helps up-level your skills for your virtual assistant or creative business and offers over 50 training courses so far, they add at least one new course every month. I completed the Pinterest virtual assistant training and then went on to complete Pinterest management, Canva and Tailwind training.
Since then, I've become a Pinterest manager and I couldn't be happier!
If you're starting your own virtual assistant business, or if you're looking to niche down in your existing business, I encourage you to explore what you're passionate about and see where it takes you. You never know where your journey will lead!
Conclusion
Celebrating my one-year anniversary as a virtual assistant has been an incredible experience. I am so proud of how far I have come in such a short amount of time, and it is all thanks to the amazing opportunities that this career path has provided me with. My journey led me to become a Pinterest manager and I look forward to continuing this exciting virtual assistant journey.
